These folders review strategies for all of the following in both English and Spanish:

SIDE ONE

ECR:   Ten  Point Value

reminder to brainstorm after reading topic/prompt, central idea that responds to the topic, Organization reminder for introduction, body and conclusion,  strategy to explain and explode each piece of evidence used to support the idea, reminder to edit and revise before clicking on submit

SCR - Two Point Open ended  Reading Color Coded Response
Red for the question and the the answer  (1 point value)
Yellow for the location of the evidence and the actual evidence with our without quotations (1 Point Value)
NOTE:  Short constructed response are called that because the TEA Scoring Guides explain that since these are reading responses, they need to be short.  No explaining is required in a short constructed response.  Including an explanation does NOT help the grade, BUT it can hurt the grade if the student forgets to include the red portion above, the answer to the question, AND the yellow portion, at least one piece evidence that supports the response.
For these types of questions, the students should make an attempt to write their response in compete sentences even though the grammar will not count against them.   Responses that are indecipherable, illegible, or incoherent will get zero points because the reader won't be able to tell if the response has an answer or evidence to back it up.

Editing
(Elementary - 8 point value, M.S. - 9 Point Value, High School 11 Point Value)
What Error/Change should be made in sentence ___? (English AND Spanish)
Capitalization, Usage, Punctuation, OR Spelling
When you see the word "error" in the question, the response is usually in the non-multiple choice drop down format.

What is the correct way to write sentence ___?
This type of question usually  signifies that the sentence has a run-on for fragment.

What is the correct/best way to write sentences ___ and ___?
These key words usually mean that one of the sentences is a complete thought and that the other is a fragment, missing either the subject or predicate.
The sentence with the mistake can either be the first or second one.

Revising
(Elementary - 8 point value, M.S. - 9 Point Value, High School -11 Point Value)
