E.R. (Emergency Room) for  Short Constructed, Extended Constructed Essay Responses, AND Editing/Revising/Reading  Online Recorded Band-Aids & Surgery Series!  This recorded writing series will cover ALL of the possible points on the test for each level:
Elementary - 52  Points Middle School - 56 Points High School - 64 Points

The lessons will be presented in a meaningful modeling & materials video format in 5 to 15 minute recorded lessons and posted to the ELAR & WRITE Prescription Facebook group and  my YouTube channel.  It is important that you join the Facebook group and/or subscribe to my Bill MacDonald Consultant channel to access the daily lessons.

THE PROBLEMS:
If your classrooms are similar to most teachers in Texas, you have a high amount of students whose ability levels are one or more years behind their actual grade levels.  This is partially due to the direct in-person quality instruction that was lost for months and some kids years with Co-vid.   In my in person conference, campus, and district trainings, I share the analogy of a construction worker trying to build a house.  It's very difficult to build a roof, "writing an entire essay based on the ability to read an entire passage" if your students are only at the walls, floor, or perhaps even the basement level of reading and writing.   Many "programs and curriculums" are only applicable practical for students functioning on or above grade level.

SOME POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS WITH THIS PURCHASE:

With the ELAR & WRITE Prescription, there WILL NOT be a one day training where you are asked to learn and teach everything that has to happen in six months that should have been taught over the last six years!  What you WILL BE part of is an ongoing modeling in the form of recorded videos and lessons using hundreds of visual, verbal auditory, and kinesthetic strategies!  Each lesson will have the specific skill covered or discussed on the subject line.  This will allow you to  download them to your school and home computers and categorize them in files that best fit your students' needs.  In this way, you can implement them as they align with your district scope and sequence/timelines.
The key is picking and choosing the ideas I share that will supplement what you are doing using creative methods that align to the various learning styles of your students.   I would LOVE the opportunity to show you how to help ALL  of them, not just some of them!

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE COUNT DOWN TO THE TEST  LESSONS AND VIDEOS

A favorite of many teachers:  At your request by email and/or messenger, I am always willing to target specific skills that your students are struggling with at your campus/district.  I am even willing to analyze SCR and ECR responses for you and give suggestions for improvement.  Just be aware that in most cases, I will allow other teachers in this group to access the ideas I share with you.  I won't use your name unless you give me permission to do so.

Disclaimer: I will never say that what I share with you is THE way, but after working with over a million students the last 20 years, I have found many ways that work that will allow you to differentiate your instruction.

We will focus on all genres that can be used in reading, essay, editing, and revising passages.  Video lessons will range from simple skills and concepts to rigorous hard to teach TEKS,  BUT I will break down the entire test into manageable realistic pieces.  I wholeheartedly believe in the concept of teaching quality over quantity.  My philosophy is modeling and mentoring one skill at at time and doing it well versus assigning multiple skills and expecting students to understand reading and writing independently.

Here is a list of some skills/TEKS you will see during our daily video lessons:
understanding the purpose/prompt, responding to the prompt based on ability
levels, clear central/controlling ideas, thesis statements, claims, basic and
effective introductions, hooks/attention getters to use with text based prompts,
clearly connecting the evidence to the topic and idea used, how to explain and
explode each evidence example, basic and effective transitions/connections between ideas, basic and specific word choices, simple and effective conclusions, voice in text based writing, grade level appropriate strategies for paired passages, identifying and refuting counter evidence in 8th-10th grade, accurate grading and analytic student friendly feedback based on the scoring guides, editing and revising the essay based on feedback, editing sentences, paragraphs and passages using CUPSS, revising sentences paragraphs and passages using ARM
